The short version is short.

Capybara Book Reader is operated by Sugarhouse Tech LLC in Utah, USA. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

Website requests

Cloudflare hosts and protects this site. It may process ordinary request data such as your IP address, browser, requested page, and time. We use this to deliver and secure the site. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

Contact form

We receive your name, email address, topic, message, and the technical information needed to deliver the form. We use it only to read and answer your message. Forward Email carries the message to our mailbox. We normally delete contact correspondence 12 months after the last exchange unless we need it longer for an active issue, legal duty, or security record.

TestFlight beta

We receive your name, Apple ID email, selected devices, and anything you choose to say about your reading. We use it to consider your request, invite testers through Apple TestFlight, and send messages needed to run the beta. This is not a marketing subscription. We normally delete requests that did not lead to testing when the beta ends or after 12 months, whichever comes first. Tester records are normally deleted 12 months after testing ends, except records we must keep for security or legal reasons.

The beta is for adults. Please do not apply if you are under 18, and do not send information about children.

Apple operates TestFlight. Sugarhouse Tech LLC may receive crash diagnostics and feedback you choose to submit through TestFlight, including device and operating-system details. Please do not include book text, private notes, or other sensitive content in feedback.

Local app

Books imported into the account-free app stay on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, Apple carries supported library records using your Apple account and iCloud storage. Apple’s terms govern that service.

Hosted accounts

Hosted Capybara accounts are not publicly available yet. Before they open, this policy will name the account data, book storage, subprocessors, retention, export, deletion, and legal bases that apply. We will not quietly apply a future hosted-data policy to an account you could not yet create.

Where data is handled

Sugarhouse Tech LLC and its providers operate in the United States. Cloudflare, Forward Email, and Apple may process data in other countries under their own data-protection terms and lawful transfer safeguards.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what personal information we hold, correct it, or request deletion through the contact form. Where local law provides them, you may also have rights to a copy, restriction, objection, or complaint to your data-protection authority. We may need to verify that a request concerns you. App data can be removed through the app and operating-system storage controls.

Changes

We will update the effective date when this policy changes. We will give direct notice before a material change affects an active hosted account or beta use where practical.
